While we may not know what lies ahead, one thing is certain: we’ll be here fighting for girls — telling their stories, knocking on doors and standing up to anyone who threatens a girl’s right to education.
Threats to girls’ education — like poverty, war and gender discrimination — differ between countries and communities.
In recent time, Cameroon has become a war zone and most our girls and youths are out of school. In our bid to support these girls we have some of them enrolled into skill acquisition programs. Some of them enrolled for Fashion design training, while others are mentored by Sisters of St. Ann in Catering Services. These girls did their baking lessons with local oven and this oven poses a great challenge to them. As they stand a chance of being hurt by the open flame from the oven.
No Girl Left Behind provided them with a more sophisticated oven for their lessons. We believe in these remarkable champions and we’re investing in their work so that every girl can learn and lead without fear.
We are grateful to everyone whose penny and sweat has gone into No Girl Left Behind cause. We have only one promise to make, “we are not giving up on these girls, we’ll continue to fight for the good of our country and Africa at large.
We wish to thank the Sisters of St. Ann for their continue support towards these girls back in Cameroon. We may not have been able to get in touch with these girls if not for the Sisters who helped us more round the village to pick them up.
